Obama Euphoria
Wed, November 5, 2008 at 11:36PM
It is everywhere in the media since this morning: "The history has been made". Obama's victory as the elected president of the United States marked triumph not only for American citizens but for basically the whole world. His winning is a symbol of equal rights and said to be a very important moment for the minorities in specific and mankind in general. It proves that there is no man-made boundaries that one can not climb over.
For me personally his winning is beyond racial issue. In the world where skepticism and pessimism are religiously embraced, his positive outlook and promise of change brings a new wave of energy. His winning in the election is a flat proof that people are still longing for hope.. hope for a better world. That's a good news!
Now imagine if you are Obama. Say 80+% of 6billion world's population put their hope in you. The saying "I carry the world on my shoulders" becomes a literal meaning for this young man. What a pressure and what a responsibility! If I were him, I might need to do 10times more headstand at night before sleep to be able to sleep well, haha!
When I heard the news this morning, I had a 5min chat with my dear friend, Silly, and we didn't say much but "hahahahahaha". (the chat was in bahasa Indonesia)
Me : Sillyyy... Obama won!! *berpelukaannnn..* hahahahahahaha
Silly: iyaaaa nad, *berpelukaan..* hahahahaha
Me: hahahahahahaha
Silly: hahahahahaha
Me: gilingan ya kita hahahahaha melulu (translation: what are we doing now, only "hahahahaha").
Silly: yup.. euphoria obama!
Me: hey that's a good title for a blog post.
Silly: Write! and let me know, and don't forget to mention my name.
Silly is right. The world and people are euphoric for Obama. I'm watching the TV now as I write this post and they still are! But of course there are some TV stations that have even started to put skepticism again, questioning his ability to deliver his ambitious promise and if any change will ever be made despite the fact that he's not even started yet to work as the president. Oh oh..typical.
As for me, I'm stil enjoying being in euphoria mood for Obama's victory. After years of my effort avoiding watching too much news on TV, I think I will go back watching more news now. Definitely there would be more inspiring liners coming out of him in the next years as opposed to the general skepticism tone from TV that we have been bombarded on for the last years... and don't forget he and the lovely first-lady-to-be Michelle are also easy on eyes! *YAAYY, finally.. hahahahaha!*

*still feel the euforia of OBAMA* :lol
Anyway, you right. Many people put their hope on Obama. And I really hope that new change not only come to America but also can affect the whole world.
Speaking about what if I were him... errrr... I will buy all of the food in this world and give it all to the hunger people in Africa, India, Indonesia, Srilanka, and all over the world... then go to sleep without any guilty feelings, hahaha.
Well, I know it's not that easy... but I do feel that he is the guy who can touch people's heart with his speech. He has his charming and good charismatic personality, and I think that's what a president should have to lead his country. He also has a great vision to unite people of America without see what race they come from.
Ahhh pokoknya mahhhh I love America for voting OBAMA as a president. If you say that you will watch more news now... Errr... Me, I would say.... I WANNA MOVE TO AMERICAAAAAAA... hahahahahaha...
Thank you for posting this hun, Love it!!!!
(kenapa gue seneng banget gini yahhh, padahal doi kenal gue juga enggak, and he's not even our president, hahaha... gak tau knapa, but I really hope a new change will come to America, and kita (Indonesia) bakalan kecipratan efek dari perubahan itu... I hope...)
